New Hours of Operation - Summer 2008  The offices of JUST FRANCE are now staffed from Monday to Thursday only. While our office will be closed Fridays, we will still be available to assist you. Please leave a detailed voice message or send us an e-mail. All messages will receive a timely reply. The switch to a four day in-office work week will add up to 10,000 miles not driven by our staff per year! Use of current technology will allow us to continue business as usual on Fridays as we work remotely from home. JUST FRANCE is pleased to implement this new policy as a way to make our office and employees more environmentally friendly. Since the spring of 2007 we have made a number of changes to green our workplace such as: Recycling paper, plastic and glass Replacing halogen bulbs with CFL bulbs Using earth-friendly office and cleaning supplies when available and possible Switching to a programmable thermostat Offering clients an all-electronic option for correspondence In addition to miles not driven this change will also result in the following savings: $1,600 for 389 gallons of gas 4,300 lbs of Co2 not released into the environment 341 hours = 14.16 days or 8½ - 40 hour work weeks! Kelly Bateman and Katie Crawford’s recent thousand-mile journey through France started in the Ile de France in Fontainebleau, continued through Southern Burgundy where they explored the Saône-et-Loire and ended in the sunny South of France near Aix-en-Provence.

Their visit to the culturally rich and historically important city of Fontainebleau offered a glimpse of the myriad pleasures and interesting opportunities afforded by the location of Le Clos du Papillon. With the best of both worlds - a peaceful countryside setting and the City of Lights just 90 minutes by car - this professionally decorated and exceptionally equipped property is not to be missed.

In Burgundy we were once again seduced by the supreme comforts of Le Plaisir and pampered by the ever-delightful resident caretaker. Difficult as it was to tear themselves away, they managed to re-visit the stately Maison aux Pres Verts and inspected a new listing: a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment in a historic building in the heart of Cluny, home to the abbey founded in 910, once the largest Christian building in the world. Before continuing south they visited a number of enchanting villages where they met delightful locals and drank in scenery of rolling green hills dotted with white Charolais cattle, as well as a few verres of crisp Côte Mâconnais.

A few hours south on the Autoroute, and Kelly and Katie were once again in their comfort zone of Provence. From their conveniently located and finely appointed homebase of Mazet de Manon they re-visited a few dozen properties from our current collection and inspected a handful of new properties in consideration for the remaining rental season and 2009. Their time in Provence covered locations as far north as Châteauneuf-du-Pâpe and Vaison-la-Romaine and as far south as Aix-en-Provence. Their visits confirmed the properties we currently represent maintain Just France’s high standards. Every property re-visited was well-maintained and in many cases has been substantially improved upon since our last visit, either by the proliferation of landscaping features aided by the bright Provençal sun, new pieces of furniture to enhance the décor or fresh bedcovers, curtains or other aesthetic touches. Kelly and Katie also met with a number of service providers, including personal guides who offer customized tours to suit a wide variety of interests. We are confident each and every contact we recommend will create a unique and memorable experience for our clients' long-awaited stays.

We are excited about the new properties visited and are in the process of developing the materials for each.
